Kinkead

bio

You can spot the Kinkead brothers by their undeniably groovy indie-pop songs — and by the fact that they’re indistinguishable when they rock the same moustache. The Québec City twins first made waves on the radio in 2018 with 1995, a debut EP steeped in indie-folk-rock influences. By 2020, they had fully locked in their pop identity with Migration, a critical and popular success that earned them an ADISQ nomination for Pop Album of the Year in 2021.

Four years later, Henri & Simon are back with a self-titled album produced by longtime collaborator Simon Kearney. This time, they’re shaping the French language through the lens of the ’70s and ’80s bands they grew up on. Think Bee Gees–level unforgettable melodies, Beau Dommage–style vocal harmonies, and the kind of retro, full-bodied grooves that would make Fleetwood Mac proud. Designed with high-energy live shows in mind, the album channels the spirit of those intoxicating karaoke nights that stretch well past midnight.
