It’s been nearly a decade since Rémi Chassé captured the hearts of Québec audiences on his way to the finale of La Voix. Since then, the singer-songwriter has been lighting up stages with his fiery energy and a voice that’s as flexible as it is powerful. Though rooted in rock’n’roll, Chassé isn’t afraid to explore other sonic territories, as heard on his latest EP, Phénomène phéromonal.

In 2014, the Louis-Jean Cormier–penned track “Une armée dans ma voix” launched Chassé onto Québec radio, marking the start of his solo career. By then, he was already a seasoned performer and recording artist, having cut three albums and toured extensively with Tailor Made Fable. Riding the wave of his first solo hit, he released Debout dans l’ombre in 2015, a full-length album of original French-language songs. Co-produced by Hubert Maheux and Guillaume Beauregard of Vulgaires Machins, the record earned him an ADISQ nomination for Révélation de l’année in 2016. His sophomore francophone album, Les cris et les fleurs, dropped on March 30, 2018, recorded between Brooklyn and Montréal with co-production from Gus Van Go, further solidifying his touring presence across Québec.

Following the demolition of his home due to the Chaudière River flood in April 2019, Chassé released the poignant track “Nous quitterons la maison,” accompanied by a music video. In partnership with the Red Cross, the song was offered to flood victims as a way to help them move forward.

In 2022, Chassé took on the lead role of Stacee Jaxx in a Québec adaptation of the musical Rock of Ages, performing over sixty shows under the direction of Joël Legendre. He returned to recording in February 2023 with Phénomène phéromonal, a four-song EP that marks a clear evolution in his sound: shimmering synths, catchy hooks, and polished pop arrangements shine through, reflecting an artist intent on bringing light and levity after a dark chapter.
