Sandrine St-Laurent

bio

Sandrine St-Laurent unfolds a delicate voice, at once intimate and radiant, over sun-soaked folk-alternative songs that are sometimes comforting, sometimes playful. On stage, surrounded by her exceptional band, she takes her place at the piano, delivering moments of sincere beauty where poetry and melody meet in a fragile, touching balance.

Although 2020 officially marks the start of her music career, the Sherbrooke native was no stranger to performing. Her youth was shaped by writing, and as a teenager she took the stage at events like the Francos de Montréal, Secondaire en spectacle, and the Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée. In 2016, after completing the program at Granby’s École nationale de la chanson, she pivoted toward studies in law and international development, traveling and broadening her perspective on the world. This pause enriched her songwriting, giving it a new depth that mirrors the adult she had become: sparkling yet grounded, dreamy yet aware.

She then released Pamplemousse, a debut EP crafted simply with her collaborator Alexis Leroy-Pleshoyano. That same year, she signed with L’Ours Label & Tournées, opening the door to wider audiences, including tours in France and opening slots for Louis-Jean Cormier.

On January 27, 2023, she unveiled Celles que je connais, her first full-length album, co-produced by Alexis Leroy-Pleshoyano, Dominique Plante (Ariane Roy), and Cédrik St-Onge. Lush with string arrangements and enveloping backing vocals, the record is both a tribute to her mother, who passed away during the writing process, and to the women who shaped her journey. Between airy melodies and intimate soundscapes, the album evokes a nostalgic sweetness that remains warmly present.

Today, Sandrine St-Laurent is preparing a new mini-album slated for spring 2025. Early tracks reveal a more confident songwriting voice and arrangements where piano, winds, and strings converse with elegance. Produced by Gabriel Desjardins (Philippe Brach, Hubert Lenoir, Men I Trust), the project delicately explores the nuances of love, grief, and rebirth.

In parallel, she continues to hone her studio skills—arranging, producing—to create music ever truer to her poetic universe. On stage or on record, Sandrine weaves songs that, like whispered confidences, remind us of the fleeting yet captivating beauty of life’s moments.
