Vendou

bio

Vendou is a Montréal rapper who channels his deep sensitivity into music, using it as an outlet for an art form that feels intimate, sometimes intense, and always rooted in the mind’s inner corners. Grounded in the present and fully tapped into his emotions — a result of a need to carve his own path rather than chase trends — he stands firmly among the new wave of alternative artists who use rap as a catalyst for their wide-ranging influences.

Winner of the GAMIQ award for Best Hip-Hop EP and a Telus grant in 2020, and a semi-finalist at Les Francouvertes, Vendou lived up to the hype with the release of his debut album MILLÉNIUM (2021, L’Ours – Label). Praised by critics and fans alike, the album has racked up over a million streams and earned him a nomination for the Prix Félix Leclerc as well as a nod for Best Hip-Hop Album at the GAMIQ awards, pushing him to the forefront of Québec’s emerging music scene.

His momentum only continued: in spring 2021, he launched his first tour, bringing his world to audiences across Québec, as well as Belgium and New Brunswick. After a two-year hiatus, punctuated by the release of his conceptual EP V POUR, he returned with NEXUS in 2023, his second full-length album. Energized by these new horizons, Vendou now moves forward with full sail.
