Jesse Proteau is a multidisciplinary singer-songwriter who first made waves as a finalist on the sixth season of the popular show La Voix. He later left his mark on Québec’s music scene under the moniker ZAGATA, racking up radio hits and millions of streams on digital platforms. Fan favorites include “Lies” (2018, with DJ Domeno, SOCAN Song of the Year), FAIRPLAY (#1 ADISQ), and ALLEYS (#1 BDS ADISQ) in collaboration ƒ21with Kain in 2019. He returned in June 2020 with MINUIT TROP TARD (with SOULDIA), amassing over 4 million streams and cracking the BDS Top 10.

In summer 2019, Jesse took center stage as the lead singer in REBEL, a Cirque du Soleil show in Spain directed by Lydia Bouchard (Révolution), where he met Alexandre Désilets. The duo later collaborated on the track TOXICO, released in October 2020. Jesse has since expanded into production, mixing, and engineering, helping shape the promising duo MONASTERE’s debut EP FRAGMENT. The release quickly earned critical acclaim, landing spots on playlists like Montréal Chill and Top Chanson 2020, while also gaining traction on commercial and satellite radio.
